Laptops have been around for a while but they have never been as popular as they are now. This really proves that the invention of laptops has widened peoples ability to use computers and take them with them wherever they wish to go.

Laptop computers are not inferior to other computing devices even though in the past people have said that laptops cannot do the same processes as desktops.

Laptops offer exactly the same things as desktop computer,  except you have the ability to take a laptop with you whenever you wish and it does not need a permenant power source to operate.

One of the problems you may encounter with a laptop is that because they are portable the are easily stolen. This is why taking out an insurance policy will protect you, in the unfortunate event that it is taken from you.

There are other great benefits of purchasing a laptop. You can easily take it to work if you need to do a powerpoint presentation and you can move it around the house when you are connected to the internet.

Damage can be caused to a laptop more easily than a desktop due to the fact they you can drop them or spill things on them more easily. So, insurance is a must. Desktop computers are stationary and the internal parts are much larger, this means that they are safe from damage more so than laptops. They also have much more casing than laptops. That said, laptops should be looked after and carried in the correct laptop case when taking them from place to place.

Laptops have been said to have a limited amount of storage space however, new laptops have dual or quad core processors just the same as desktops and they have built in web cams.

Some batteries can last up to 12 hours or longer but it does depend what you intend to run on your laptop.

Laptops are now made for different things. Gaming laptops usually have high definition graphics cards built into them and also have a greater storage on them so that you can install your game successfully without clogging up your hard drive. Other laptops are designed with other key features which can suit every type of person.
